Broccoli is flower shaped vegetable usually dark green in colour. Broccoli is a member of the cabbage family, and is closely related to cauliflower.

Broccoli contains folate and has cholesterol-lowering properties. It is high in fibre and aids digestion. Broccoli gets a deep rich colour from the high iron content. You can also boil it lightly and use in salads or have it raw with some mild seasoning or serve it with some cheese sauce.
